Frequently Asked Questions:
Rain/Extreme Heat: ACE runs rain or shine (as best we can). In Cambridge, we’ll go into the WAR Memorial Field House. In Medford and Somerville, we adjust our program and operate under portable tents. If we do cancel the program based on weather, students can make up the cancelled day at any point throughout the summer.
Staff: Every site has two site leaders: one lead tennis coach and one lead writing instructor. These site leaders are experienced teachers and coaches and are 25+ years old. The supporting staff members are younger, usually high school students. All staff are CORI checked, and every group will have one CPR/First Aid certified staff at all times.
Equipment: The only required equipment are sneakers and a water bottle, and probably a snack. We have rackets for everyone and other tennis-related gear.
Snacks and Water: Please send your child/children with snacks, and if they’ll be there all day, pack a lunch. ACE does not provide food. We will have a water jug for youth to fill their bottles.
Bathrooms: Bathrooms are close by. We always have staff accompany students to the bathrooms.
Scholarships: ACE offers unlimited scholarships. Choose the amount you need when you register (50%, 80% or 90%, if a full scholarship is necessary please contact us.) If anyone would like to support our scholarship fund. please do so by following this link.
Refunds:
Registration: When you register, $25 of your payment is a non-refundable deposit to hold your spot.
Refunds Before Camp Starts
Full refund (minus deposit) if cancellation is made 30+ days before camp start date.
50% refund (minus deposit) if cancellation is made 14–29 days before camp start date.
No refunds for cancellations made within 13 days of camp start.
Refunds After Camp Begins
No refunds once camp has started.
Missed days due to illness are not refundable, but can be made up later in the summer.
